Palavas-les-Flots
Palavas-les-Flots is a resort on the Mediterranean Sea, in the Hérault department and of the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, around 6 km south of Montpellier.
Tchaikovsky visited Palavas-les-Flots on 27 July/8 August 1876, at the end of a journey by steamship on the river Rhône from Lyon to Montpellier. He was accompanied on his journey by his brother Modest, Nikolai Konradi, and the latter's governess Sof'ia Ershova [1].
